Applications of Artificial Intelligence (A.I.)

Neural Networks, Fuzzy logic and Neuro-fuzzy algorithms are finding their way into the control and optimization domain of the industrial processes. The highest benefits are derived in control applications where the process outputs cannot be precisely expressed in terms of process or operator inputs.

Arc furnace regulation and optimization, reheat furnace predictive thermal models, rolling mill inter-stand tension control are only some of the areas where the Artificial Intelligence provides optimization solutions previously not possible.  The benefits of Artificial Intelligence are extensive.

Quad Automation is presently developing A.I. applications for the Steel Industry. As the PLC  technology develops, these application are embedded in the traditional control systems. Through a cooperative effort with universities, the latest technology tools are being adapted by Quad to the process environment.
